Van Cleef & Arpels Perlee: The Ring On Sale

Van Cleef Arpels diamond ring in a beige velvet box with black interior

The Van Cleef and Arpels Perlee line dates back over a decade and descends from the Tartelette ring of 1948, and we have a Perlee diamond ring in white gold in stock now at a sale price. It originally retailed for over 10,000 CAD, and it is one of the maison's signature designs.

What is the Perlee line?

Perlee is the line built on tiny hand-polished beads, and it has been part of the Van Cleef and Arpels collection for over a decade. The beads decorate rings, watches and earrings alike. The design was inspired by the Tartelette ring first launched in 1948, and the curves were meticulously shaped to reflect light. Perlee pieces are often paired with diamonds or gemstones to add sparkle to the signature beaded rows.

A love story, briefly

Estelle Arpels, the daughter of a precious stone dealer, married Alfred Van Cleef, the son of a stonecutter, in 1895. In the 19th century, marriages often created alliances between families and strong economic ties. After the wedding, Estelle's brother Charles formed a partnership with Alfred, and their shared passion for jewellery making and family produced a flagship in Paris at the Place Vendome. Brothers Julien and Louis later joined, and the family name carried the business through its early decades.
