What to Do When Instagram Disables Your Account

Luxe Du Jour has had its Instagram account disabled three times: in October 2020, on November 25, 2021 and again on April 14, 2022. Each recovery started with the right appeal form, and Instagram can return an account in as little as 24 hours or take weeks.

How did each disabling unfold?

The first disabling came around October 2020. The second hit on November 25, 2021 at 5:30 pm, the day before Black Friday, while the team was getting ready for the sale, and on Friday, December 17 at 6:07 pm the account was deemed a mistake. The third came on Wednesday, April 14, 2022 at 9:34 pm with no notice, except for a 24 hour lockout on Tuesday, April 12 at 9:27 pm due to suspicious activity.

Which Instagram form should you submit?

Instagram keeps three separate forms, one for each situation. If you believe your account was disabled for intellectual property violations or for sharing fraudulent or misleading content, use the first form. If you believe it was deactivated by mistake, use the second. If it was deactivated for not following Instagram's Community Guidelines and you think that was a mistake, use the third. If you do not know why your account was deactivated, a recurring issue for many, we recommend form number 2. Recovery can take as long as weeks or as little as 24 hours depending on the case.

What is the backup plan while you wait?

While the appeal runs, keep customers close on a backup account and an email list. Luxe Du Jour pointed followers to @luxedujour2 for new arrivals and updates and invited everyone to join the email list to be first in line for updates and special deals.

Through every outage the shopping kept going: browse new arrivals, catch up on the Luxe Bag Rental update, or start a sale through consignment.
